Altegio's built-in WhatsApp or Povidomlyaka: which to use for reminders
Altegio can send WhatsApp reminders on its own. Here is an honest look at what the built-in notifications include, what they cost and when they are all you need.

Two ways to send WhatsApp from Altegio without a third-party app
The first is Altegio's messaging service: reminders, confirmation requests and review requests go out on WhatsApp from Altegio's official number. You top up a balance and pay per message.
The second is the WhatsApp Coexistence integration: automated messages go out from your own number through Meta's official platform, and you keep replying to clients in the WhatsApp Business app.
Povidomlyaka works differently: it connects your WhatsApp and Telegram by QR code, and the conversation with the client opens right inside Altegio.
Altegio's built-in WhatsApp and Povidomlyaka
The main differences are client replies and the pricing model. Altegio's built-in notifications are one-way and billed per message. Povidomlyaka gives you two-way chat for a flat price per channel.
| What we compare | Altegio built-in WhatsApp | Povidomlyaka |
|---|---|---|
| Channels | WhatsApp, plus email, push and SMS through a connected SMS aggregator | Telegram, WhatsApp and SMS from your own Android phone. Instagram and Messenger coming soon |
| Sending number | Altegio's official number. Your own number needs the separate WhatsApp Coexistence integration | Your own WhatsApp number and your own Telegram |
| How WhatsApp connects | Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform | By QR code, like WhatsApp Web. This is not the official WhatsApp Business API |
| Client replies | Notifications from Altegio's number are one-way: clients can't reply, only follow links. With Coexistence, replies are handled in the WhatsApp Business app | Two-way chat in the Altegio side panel, next to the appointment calendar |
| Visit confirmation | A "Confirm appointment" button in the request, status updates automatically | AI understands the client's reply in their own words and confirms or cancels the booking in Altegio |
| Post-visit review request | Yes, a separate notification type | Yes: happy clients are sent to Google, low ratings are flagged to you right away |
| Fallback channel | You set the channel order. "Send only if the previous channel failed" is available for SMS and the branded app | Telegram → WhatsApp → SMS cascade in the order you choose |
| Broadcasts | Yes, via SMS or messengers | Yes, as a separate module. Messages go out gradually within your plan limit |
| Pricing | From Altegio's number: $0.05 per message, minimum top-up of 200 messages. From your own number: Meta's rates | WhatsApp or Telegram €15.00 a month, both €25.00, per channel group. No per-message fees. SMS channel €10.00 a month plus your carrier's rates |
| Free trial | WhatsApp from Altegio's number is available on paid Altegio plans | 14 days free, no card required |
Altegio details are taken from the "Automatic appointment reminders" page on alteg.io and the Altegio notification sender and WhatsApp Business (with Coexistence) app cards in the Altegio marketplace, as of October 2026. Terms may change, so check the current ones on Altegio's site.

When Altegio's built-in notifications are enough
Built-in notifications are a sound choice if all you need is reminders, not conversations. A separate app is optional then.
- Clients rarely reply to reminders and are happy to reschedule through a link
- You send few reminders, so paying per message stays cheap
- You don't mind messages coming from Altegio's number rather than yours
- Most clients use the Altegio.me app, and push and email are free in Altegio
When clients want to reply, not just read
- Clients can't reply to a reminder from Altegio's number in the same chat
- Messages come from Altegio's number, not your business
- Confirmation only through a button behind a link
- WhatsApp is the only messenger
- The bill grows with every message
- Client numbers sit in staff members' phones
- The client replies in the same chat and the admin sees it in Altegio
- Messages come from your WhatsApp and Telegram, a number clients know
- AI understands "yes, I'll be there" or "move me to tomorrow" and updates the booking
- Telegram, WhatsApp and SMS in a cascade reach clients where they actually read
- A flat price per channel, no per-message fees
- Hidden numbers keep the client base with the salon

FAQ
Can Altegio send WhatsApp reminders without a third-party app?+
Yes. Altegio's messaging service sends reminders, confirmation requests and review requests on WhatsApp from Altegio's official number, billed per message and only on paid Altegio plans. To send from your own number, use the WhatsApp Coexistence integration at Meta's rates.
Can clients reply to Altegio's WhatsApp reminders?+
According to Altegio, the built-in notifications are one-way: clients can't reply, but they can follow a link to confirm, reschedule or cancel. With Povidomlyaka, clients simply reply in the chat and the admin sees the conversation in the Altegio side panel.
Does Povidomlyaka use the official WhatsApp Business API?+
No. WhatsApp connects by QR code, like WhatsApp Web, and messages come from your own number. So message only your own clients and avoid sudden mass sends, which keeps the number working reliably. Telegram and SMS in the cascade back up delivery.
Is WhatsApp Coexistence available for salons in Poland, Czechia or Germany?+
According to its card in the Altegio marketplace, Coexistence is not supported in the EU, the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, nor in several other countries. Povidomlyaka doesn't use Coexistence: WhatsApp connects by QR code.
How does Povidomlyaka's price compare with paying per message?+
WhatsApp or Telegram costs €15.00 a month per channel group, both together €25.00. A channel group is a set of connected numbers, and one group can serve several Altegio locations. The price doesn't depend on the number of messages, staff or bookings. The SMS channel is €10.00 a month, and the SMS themselves, sent from your Android phone, are billed at your carrier's rates.
How does Telegram work in Povidomlyaka?+
You can connect a personal Telegram account by QR code, so reminders come from your name. Or a Telegram bot: it replies to clients but can't message first anyone who hasn't started a chat with it.
